Art and Design Vision Statement

Art will become embedded throughout school as a way to explore and express many curriculum areas.   The Arts Mark journey will be used to guide us through the process. Art inspiration is drawn from many cultures, countries and beliefs, reflecting the diverse population of our school family.

Using Rosenshine’s principles pupils are given information, introduced to artists and techniques to develop their artistic skills, then given time to explore and develop those skills before producing a final piece of work to demonstrate their learning. By encouraging the children to build upon skills year by year we hope they will continue to enjoy  being creative beyond their school years.
